I was recently given the strangest compliment of my life. I was talking to a client who was trying to schedule a meeting with me when I didn't have the time for it...his reply - "I guess it can wait, you're the only writer I know making money and I suppose it's for a reason!" The reason people think of it as a another name for unemployement is that some writers act that way. Usually they are the unsuccessful ones. It's a mindset thing I think.
